Well, I had this idea a few months back to start a blog about my knitting and crocheting, but being a busy medical student I thought it might take too much effort. The idea just kept nagging at me, and so I guess this is me caving in. I know absolutely nothing about blogging, and I’ll be surprised if anyone pays any attention to me, but here I am!
A little about me to start. I am a medical student, and I just finished up my first year (YAY!). One thing you can guess is that medical school is a time consuming life course. After five years of undergrad, countless hours of volunteering, working in research, and three intervening years, I jumped head first into medical school. Often times I forget to resurface for air and I tend to get a little lost in the minutia. I’ve learned a lot over the last year, but the single most important thing is that I am unwilling to completely let go of who I am and what I like to do. I know many people that have absolutely no qualms about living to study, I however like to live for my own personal sanity.
How do I keep sane you ask? It’s simple I do what I’ve always done I make things! I learned how to crochet when I was 13 years old and I taught myself how to knit last year. I am no expert by any means, but I enjoy it because I feel centered when I am working with my hands. So much so that I have taken to crocheting during lectures. So, yes I am the crazy lady in the back of the lecture hall with my bag full of yarn. I am not sure what will become of this blog, but at the very least I wanted to share some of the things I made in med school.
